The General EquaGel Cushion offers advanced pressure redistribution and support using patented EquaGel technology.
EquaGel Construction
The General cushion features 5.08cm (2 inches) of EquaGel™ with a 1.90cm (0.75'') trochanter bucket-sculpted in for stability and comfort. It utilizes a multi-layer design for optimal pressure management.
Two-Stage EquaGel
The cushion employs a two-stage EquaGel™ system. The top layer consists of a thin wall gel and a tight grid, designed to provide a comfort layer. The bottom layer uses a thicker wall gel and a wide grid to offer deep posture support.
Pelvic Contour
The pelvic area of the cushion is contoured to distribute a user’s weight more evenly than other cushions, while maintaining 3.17cm (1.25”) of buckling gel under the pressure points.
EquaGel Technology
EquaGel™ is a dry-polymer gel with a unique column buckling feature. Under weight, the gel walls buckle and pass the weight to surrounding walls, achieving even pressure distribution. This allows peak pressure points like the ischial tuberosities and coccyx/sacrum to sink into the cushion, while the thighs and buttocks are supported for good posture.
Comfort and Support Layers
Each cushion incorporates a two-stage buckling approach. The top layer has a small grid of gel for enhanced comfort, buckling easily to allow sensitive areas to sink into the support layer. The lower support layer, with its thicker walls, provides postural support.
Cover Features
The cushion includes a fluid-resistant, vapour-permeable, and flame-resistant cover.
