The Karma VIP 2 combines tilt-in-space and recline in a single lightweight, folding wheelchair. Tilting redistributes pressure through the day to help reduce the risk of pressure injuries and relieve the discomfort of prolonged sitting, while the recline opens the seat-to-back angle for rest and repositioning.

What sets the VIP 2 apart is its anti-sliding reclining system. On a conventional reclining chair the user slides down as the back goes back, creating shear against the backrest and poor positioning. The VIP 2 relocates the reclining pivot point so it sits closer to the user's hip joint, synchronising the movement of the body and the chair and greatly reducing sliding and shear.

It suits users with partial trunk control who need supported positioning without giving up the convenience of a folding chair. The aluminium frame folds down for the boot of a car, and the push bar reinforces the frame while making it easy to steer one-handed.

This is the transit model with 14 inch rear wheels for attendant propulsion, in an 18 inch seat width.

Care and safety

• Upholstery is removable and machine washable. Follow the label instructions.
• Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
• Check that the tilt and recline locks, wheel locks and footrests are secure before each use.
• Fit anti-tippers where the user is at risk of tipping backwards.

A wide range of options and accessories is available, including elevating legrests, an IV pole, cane holder, oxygen holder and hemi armpad. Elevating legrests are an optional upgrade and are not supplied with the standard configuration.
