Light enough to lift yourself

The Pride Go Go Carbon is built around a carbon fibre frame, and that is the whole point of it. Without the battery it weighs just 16kg, which is light enough for many people to lift into a car boot without help. The battery is a separate 1.8kg unit that lifts out on its own.

It folds down in seconds. Once folded you can wheel it along behind you like a suitcase, which makes it far easier to manage through an airport, a hotel or a shopping centre than carrying it.

The frame, the wheel rims and the tiller are all carbon fibre. It is a single piece design, so there is nothing to pull apart and reassemble and no parts to leave behind. You fold it, load it, and unfold it at the other end.

The console has a colour display that is easy to read at a glance, and the scooter starts using an NFC tag rather than a key. That means there is no key to lose, and it stops anyone else from riding off on it. The seat back and base lift out so you can clean them properly.

A full charge gives you up to 16km at speeds to 6km/h, and it carries riders up to 136kg.

Where it works best

The Go Go Carbon is designed for smooth, sealed surfaces. It has no suspension and sits low to the ground, so it is at its best on footpaths, indoors and around shops.

• Very good on: footpaths, shopping centres, indoors, boardwalks.
• Take care on: gravel paths, grass, uneven or cracked pavement, wet surfaces, packed sand.
• Not suitable for: loose sand, deep gravel, or slopes steeper than about 9 degrees.

The Go Go Carbon is designed with air travel in mind, but every airline sets its own rules for lithium batteries. Please check with your airline before you book, and let us know if you would like help with the paperwork.

Before you buy

This scooter is built for portability, not for rough ground. There is no suspension and only 38mm of clearance underneath, so it is not the right choice if your regular routes include gravel, grass or steep hills. If that sounds like you, talk to us and we will show you a scooter better suited to it.

At 6km/h it is also slower than a full-size scooter, which suits footpaths and indoor use.
